Frontier Airlines is making even more cuts in a move that the airline's management said is necessary to control costs.
A new summer schedule for Frontier will include the discontinuation of all regional jet service, with the exception of Milwaukee to Rhinelander/ Oneida County. Milwaukee nonstop service will be suspended effective June 1 to:
- Columbus, OH - Indianapolis, IN - Nashville, TN - Omaha, NE - Pittsburgh, PA
As a result of these changes and the cutting of service to New York's La Guardia Airport due to a slot transaction, Frontier's daily departures out of Milwaukee will be reduced from 18 to seven. Additionally, 125 jobs in Milwaukee will be cut as a result of diminished service.
As of June 1, the only cities that will be served by Frontier out of Mitchell will be:
- Denver, CO - Washington, D.C. - Orlando, FL - Rhinelander/Oneida County, WI. However, the flights to Rhinelander are in the process of being shifted to another carrier, Mitchell spokeswoman Pat Rowe said.
Regional jets and crews will be reallocated to other "partners" of Republic Airways Holdings Inc.
Our agents will inform any affected travelers of their options.
