COVID-19 Packing Tips / Travel Kit
There is a lot information out there right now about safe travel, and it can be difficult to know where to start reading. One of the most common questions and stressors for any trip that we hear from our clients is, “What do I pack?” Fox has created a quick list of must-have items for traveling during COVID-19.
1. Thermometer
If you feel unwell, it’s not a bad idea to do a self-check. Especially since many public places are requiring temperature scans, you can check yourself before leaving the house.
2. Face mask
The majority of public transportation, airlines and public places now require you to wear a face mask. Don’t forget to pack yours in your carry-on bag and pack one or more extras so you don’t have to scramble to find one if you misplace yours.
3. Hand sanitizer
This item is currently on everyone’s must-have list and the TSA is currently allowing one liquid hand sanitizer container, up to 12 ounces per passenger, in carry-on bags. The typical liquid standard is 3.4 ounces, so hand sanitizer will need to be taken out and screened separately at checkpoints. Plan for a little extra time.
4. Sanitizing wipes
Along with keeping your hands clean, make sure that you have a way to keep surfaces clean. Wiping down tray tables, door handles and other surfaces will help you feel safe and eliminate hidden germs.
5. Medications
Pack all of your medications in your carry on luggage in the unlikely situation that your baggage gets lost and ensure that you have enough in case of emergency. With travel guidelines changing rapidly, if you have any symptoms of illness you may need to extend your stay.
6. Pre-packaged snacks
To eliminate the need to run to the store for snacks, plan ahead and bring some of your favorite pre-packaged snacks. This will help keep your stomach happy and limit your number of side-trips.
7. In-room fitness solutions
A healthy body is much better at fighting off germs than an unhealthy one. Many gyms remain closed due to the pandemic, so adjust your fitness routine to include easy workouts that can be accomplished in your hotel room. Don’t forget to pack your gear!
8. Books and entertainment
With new social distancing protocols, we find ourselves getting creative with our entertainment options. Find ways to occupy yourself if you have time to kill at an airport or in a destination. Pack a book, download your favorite podcast or bring your favorite form of portable entertainment.
As always, Fox is here to help make take your travel experience to the next level. From packing tips to traveler safety assistance, we know that every bit counts. Contact us today.
