Torgau
Located southwest of Berlin, Torgau is best known as the location of a diplomatic meeting between U.S. and Soviet leaders during World War II. Since the reunification of East and West Germany, the historic town center has been restored to its former glory. Some notable points of interest in Torgau include a brewery museum, where visitors can learn about how the finest German beers are crafted, the monument for the meeting of the Russian and American troops on the Elbe River and the magnificent early Renaissance Hartenfels Castle.
