Fox Dream Team’s Adventure to Walt Disney World® Resort

What do you get when you put a bunch of Disney loving and knowledgeable travel specialists together?  Fox World Travel’s Dream Team!  Six of our Dream Team members recently ventured to Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando in November to visit Epcot, Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios.  Between seeing and experiencing all the new additions to the parks, they also visited select resorts, helping them stay up to date with the most recent updates, renovations and insights to share during the consultation process with our travelers.

The team wrote the following blog to offer a glimpse at what they learned and they have even more tips and advice to personally share with YOU!  You can contact them here.

Here were their top five quick tips:

  1. Download the My Disney Experience Mobile App.
  2. Review your Fast Passes and a general game plan each morning.
  3. If nighttime activities are on your wish list, consider an afternoon break at your hotel or arrive at the parks in the afternoon so everyone is energized to enjoy the evening.
  4. Make sure you reserve your dining reservations well in advance.
  5. Stay on-site for added experiences and bonus park hours.

The Team’s Favorite Seasonal and Popular Attractions

Food & Wine Festival at Epcot

Foodies from around the world have a place to unite and it’s called Epcot’s Food and Wine Festival.  This festival runs from August to November and brings together the resident countries already at Epcot, along with some other great additions such as Brazil, Morocco and Belgium.

Dream Team Quick Tip: Upon arrival into Epcot, picking up your Food and Wine Passport should be stop number one, for two reasons:

  1. Take a moment and figure out your plan of attack and also look into what each countries menu options are.
  2. You will want to make sure to “stamp” countries after each visit.

As a bonus, for those that decide to add the dining plan to their Disney vacation, it can also be used during the Festival. With choices such as ramen in Japan, filet mignon in Canada and crème brulee in France, how could you ever keep it to just two snacks for the day?

For the true foodies who would like to experience even more beyond the culinary booths, the festival also offers unique demonstrations such as cheese pairings, culinary presentations and seminars.  Want to see your favorite Celebrity Chefs?  There are appearances and demonstrations by everyone from Cake Boss’ Buddy Valastro to Restaurant Impossible’s Robert Irvine.  Now that you have eaten to your heart’s content, it’s time to dance away with live music from groups ranging from Hanson and Boys to Men to the Spanish Harlem Orchestra.  Our Dream Team can help you explore planned activities happening during the duration of your stay.

Cinderella’s Royal Table at Magic Kingdom

Have you ever wondered what it was like to enjoy dinner like royalty in a beautiful castle? If so, we highly recommend reservations at Cinderella’s Royal Table at Magic Kingdom.  As soon as you enter the Grand Hall to see Cinderella herself, you will be treated like royalty as she is there waiting to greet you and capture the moment.

As you ascend the spiral staircase to the banquet hall, you can feel the anticipation of your own little princess or princess.  The banquet hall is adorned with medieval flags, stone archways and beautiful stained-glass windows.  This three-course dinner experience is topped off with visits from princesses such as Aurora, Jasmine, Ariel and Snow White, so make sure your phone is charged, your memory card has enough storage and your pen is ready for autographs.

Dream Team Quick Tip: Plan a visit to the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique at Magic Kingdom or Disney Springs prior to your arrival and your children have the chance to feel and dress the part, building upon their excitement to experience such a royal setting.  (We can help you with reservations as a service of our Dream Team Royal Package)

Very Merry Christmas Party at Magic Kingdom

Can’t get enough of the Christmas season? We highly recommend a visit to Walt Disney World Resort from early November until the week of Christmas.  On select days from 7 pm to midnight, the Magic Kingdom is transformed into a winter wonderland called Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. This is a special ticket event ranging in price from $99 to $139 per person and is capacity controlled so you can enjoy the park and ride your favorite rides with reduced crowds.

As soon as you walk into the Magic Kingdom you will immediately feel the holiday spirit with cast members dressed in special holiday attire and holiday music playing throughout the beautifully lit park.

In addition to special character meet and greets, rides are transformed with holiday décor and there are concerts and dance parties to enjoy.  Any location on Main Street will give you a picture-perfect view of the parade that runs twice throughout the night. Be on the lookout for marching toy soldiers, dancing reindeer, beloved characters and even a visit from Santa himself!

Dream Team Quick Tip: The second evening parade is less crowded.

As you’re walking through the Magic Kingdom, look for the lit-up candy canes directing you to complimentary treat stations with holiday cookies, hot chocolate, egg nog and snowman soft warm pretzels.  If this isn’t enough to have you singing “we wish you a merry Christmas,” the evening ends with a firework extravaganza and snow on Main Street USA to really put a cherry on top of a perfect evening!

Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge

Whether you are a diehard Star Wars fan or not, Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios will not disappoint.  In true Disney style everything from the rocks and foliage to the buildings and décor will make you feel like you have been transported to the Black Spire Outpost on the planet of Batuu. If you are a fan of the Resistance or the First Order there will be something around every corner to amaze you!

Dream Team Quick Tip: Make sure to stop at the Marketplace where the merchandise is exclusively sold in this area and not sold anywhere else at the Disney Parks.  From special handmade toys and alien creatures, to building your own light saber at Savi’s Workshop or constructing your own droid at the Droid Depot, there’s so much to see and do.  Reservations are recommended for both Savi’s Workshop or the Droid Depot and we can assist with this as part of our Royal Planning service.

As you make your way around the corner from the First Order, or as you finish walking through the marketplace, you will see the jaw dropping, life-sized Millennium Falcon!  Enjoy the Millennium Falcon – Smugglers Run – a thrilling interactive ride.  As you begin to get closer while standing in line for the ride you will start to feel like you are walking through the halls of the ship.  Before heading into the cockpit for your mission you will gather into a small group of six – two pilots, two gunners and two engineers.

If you have worked up an appetite you can enjoy a meal at Docking Bay 7. Their menu offers food selections that will sound like they came from another planet including Batuuan Beef Pot Roast, Endorian Fried Chicken Tip Yip and Mustafarian Cinnamon Rolls.  Wash it all down with some Moof Juice or visit the local watering hole, Oga’s Cantina.  Seating is very limited, feel free to ask us for reservation details.
