Celebrated in song, poem and tall tale, Alaska and the Yukon must be experienced for oneself! As the sun sets a golden glow across the land, you`ll journey to those places that made Alaska and the Klondike famous! Learn the history of the gold boom town of Kantishna as you explore Denali National Park. Take a historic riverboat cruise in the Golden Heart City of Fairbanks and venture to where the great Gold Rush started back in the Days of `98, Dawson City!
Your tour includes an 7-night land tour and a relaxing 4-night cruise onboard Holland America`s ship Koningsdam. Isn`t it time to start writing your own tales? There`s no better place to capture those stories than Alaska and the Yukon!
Itinerary
Welcome to Anchorage, Alaska! Upon arrival, you’ll meet your Holland America Journey Host and Fox World Travel tour manager at the hotel. Our wonderful tour starts tomorrow. Your hotel is in walking distance to many shops, restaurants, museums and more! Head out to explore Alaska’s largest city.
Hotel: Hotel Captain Cook
The McKinley Explorer train departs Anchorage at 9:15 am this morning. Relax as we travel through beautiful scenery. Lunch is included onboard. The train arrives in Denali National Park around 4:50 pm. This evening you are treated to dinner and a show at Music of Denali starting at 7:30 pm. After the show, check out Denali Square’s restaurant, bar, shops, live entertainment and campfires, all with a lovely mountain view (and free Wi-fi)!

It’s an early start today on our Tundra Wilderness Tour into Denali National Park. Keep an eye out for the Big-5 wildlife and a glimpse of Denali. Our naturalist guide will show us the way. Snack Box Included. Tours may start as early as 6:00 am and return in the early afternoon giving you more personal time to relax or join a variety of optional excursions.

North to Fairbanks today. Our bus departs Denali around 9:00 am and arrives at Steamboat Landing in Fairbanks where lunch is included before a wonderful Discover Riverboat cruise on the Chena & Tanana Rivers. We’ll arrive at our hotel in the early evening.

Today we board our own charter jet for a flight to Dawson City (flight time is TBA). Grab a window seat for incredible views on this short 1-hour flight. Upon arrival we meet our Yukon driver/guide to explore Dawson and visit a historic gold dredge (buffet lunch included). Tonight, head over to Diamond Tooth Gerties Gambling Hall & Can Can Revue. We’ll provide you with a 2-day pass!

Enjoy this unique city on your own today. We recommend the short walk over to the Parks Canada Visitor Center for information. They offer great walking tours of town and helpful tips on restaurants and things to do.

Get ready for a long day, but with lots of neat stops along the way. We depart in the morning (7:00 am-ish). After a quick stop at Moose Creek and a few photo opportunities, we’ll have Lunch included in Minto. The scenery is amazing throughout. We arrive Whitehorse in the evening in time to find a great restaurant for dinner in the capital city of the Yukon Territory.

It’s an early departure from Whitehorse this morning with a break in the cute village of Carcross. In Fraser, BC we board the White Pass Train to Skagway. Watch for incredible views around every turn! We arrive Skagway around Noon, where we board our beautiful Holland America ship, the Koningsdam. Enjoy lunch onboard and then head back into Skagway to see the sites. Ship departs at 8:00pm.
Today is a full day of cruising scenic Glacier Bay National Park. Immense glaciers surround us at every turn. You’ll see alpine glaciers in the mountains and beautiful tidewater glaciers at sea level. Your day culminates 65 miles into the park at Margerie and Grand Pacific glaciers. Keep an eye out for whales and other marine life, many types of birds and even wildlife on the shore. Park rangers and naturalists onboard will keep you informed as well. Scenic Cruising from 7:00am to 4:00pm
The Port of Ketchikan is our stop today. Of the many excursions offered here, float plane trips to Misty Fjord, totem parks, fishing excursions, zip lining, and even snorkeling are quite popular! It’s also a shoppers haven with a myriad of stores just steps from the ship. Stroll over to famous Creek Street to visit lovely boutique shops, watch for salmon, hike the wooded trails or take in a panoramic view from the Cape Fox Lodge. In port from 11:00am to 7:00pm.
Your final day on board will be for you! Explore the ship, take in a cooking lecture at America’s Test Kitchen, check out the casino, listen to great music at BB King’s, and dine to your heart’s content as we sail through the gorgeous inside passage of British Columbia.
Our ship arrives this morning in Vancouver and disembarks soon after docking. If you have time before your flight or want to stay an extra day or two, Vancouver is a beautiful city to spend time. We recommend flights after 11:00 am for Holland America airport transfers. Arrival in port at 7:00am.

Notes
Airport & Ship Transfers
Airport transfers are included in the price. To utilize Holland America’s transfers, flight arrival into Anchorage can be at any time on the first travel day, and departure from Vancouver should be after 11:00 am. Transfers can be arranged for early arrival into Anchorage if flight schedule is provided (some restrictions apply, Seattle transfers available).
Cancellation Penalties
- Time of booking to 91 days prior to departure (May 2, 2023) – Fox World Travel fees applies
- 90 to 76 days prior to departure (May 3 – 17, 2023) – Amount equal to deposit requirement
- 75 to 61 days prior to departure (May 18 – June 1, 2023) – 50% of gross fare per person
- 60 to 31 days prior to departure (June 2 – July 1, 2023) – 75% of gross fare per person
- 30 days or less (July 2, 2023) – No Refund
In addition to any vendor (airline, hotel, tour operator, or other travel supplier) fees, Fox World Travel charges the following cancellation fee: $100.00 per person
