A Personalized Approach to Visiting Walt Disney World®

Launched in October 2021, the all-new Disney Genie Service allows guest to optimize their time at all the Disney Theme Parks with an all-new fun and personalized itinerary tool using “Magical Genie” technology. Read on to learn everything you need to know before you go to Walt Disney World®!

How to use the Genie Service

The Disney Genie works through My Disney Experience, which can be downloaded to your smart phone through the app store. There are 3 ‘tiers’ of the Genie Service: Basic Genie Service, Genie+ Service, and Genie+ Service with Lightning Lane options. Let’s go through each option.

TIP: Once downloaded, be sure you select Use Cellular Data. 

Basic Genie Service

The Genie Service is offered directly through “My Disney Experience” and offers:

• Personalized itinerary planning.

• Access to future wait times for attractions.

• Access to showtimes.

• Ability to make restaurant reservation along with mobile ordering.

• Select virtual queues for attractions.

• Provides real-time park tips.

TIP: Create your best Disney day by selecting your preferences for the day under the MY DAY tab. Meet a Princess? Catch a parade? Let the Genie know.

Here’s where the magic happens! The Genie is designed to think of every scenario to provide you with an experience made just for you, and even offers suggestions as you navigate around the park. Whether a ride breaks down or inclement weather strikes, the Genie helps you move seamlessly around the park and recommends itinerary changes accordingly.

But there’s more! And that is where Genie+ comes in.

Genie+ Service

Genie+ is an upgrade to the free complimentary Genie Service. Disney Genie+ costs $15 per ticket, per day at Walt Disney World®. This additional feature offers:

• The ability to make reservations throughout the day (one at a time) beginning at 7 A.M. on your visiting day for over 40 attractions at Disney World.

• Once redeemed or arrival window has passed, you can selection another and continue until the parks close.

• Augmented reality photo lenses!

• Audio experiences tailored to specific locations throughout the theme parks.

• Faster access to many attractions via Lightning Lane Entrance (We will talk about this next.)

Genie+ Service with Lightning Lane Attractions

The Lightning Lane is another feature only offered through Genie+ and allows you to select high-demand rides not included in Genie+ for an additional cost per ride.

• For an additional fee, guests will be able to select a time of day to ride up to TWO high-demanded attractions each day, per park.

• Selections can be made on the day of each guest’s visit and used across multiple theme parks.

• The individual pay-per-ride options are subject to change, and it should be noted that this a la carte option and Genie+ offer different attractions. You can use both services together or separately.

TIP: These high-demand attractions can sell out each day based on demand and time of year and they are non-refundable.
