You’ll be amazed by the craftsmanship of the stonework here—the precisely cut smaller stones highlight an engineering skill that, in some ways, rivals or even surpasses the famous masonry at Machu Picchu.

Lunch awaits you at Sarapampa Hacienda, a family-run business renowned for cultivating Cusco Giant White corn. With three generations preserving the traditions of corn farming, rustic cuisine, and the serene hacienda lifestyle, you’ll savor an authentic experience in the heart of the Sacred Valley.  Take the afternoon to acclimate to the high altitude.

You will have the opportunity to get lunch in their garden, it is a different way to help.

Next, you’ll visit Moray, located about 7 kilometers beyond Maras. This remarkable site was once a creative agricultural experimentation center. Its concentric circular terraces, built at different elevations, were used by the Incas to grow, and study new crop strains. Thanks to the unique geography of Moray, each terrace features a different temperature, simulating a variety of climatic conditions within a small area. Here, you’ll see how the Incas used these conditions to develop & improve crop varieties through careful experimentation.

You’ll also explore the “Salineras de Maras,” located about 10 kilometers off the main road to Maras. These centuries-old salt pools cascade down the mountainside, fed by a saline underground stream.
