Jennifer Skaar

Jennifer has been a travel consultant for over 30 years, and 15 of those years have been with Fox World Travel. After a suggestion of a friend, she enrolled in a 12-week course offered by a local agency. Within the first few weeks, Jennifer knew she wanted a career in the travel industry. She ended up working for the agency and teaching travel school as well.

Jennifer is unique in that she enjoys assisting with business travel as well as vacation travel. She is very comfortable with and enjoys using Travelport Smartpoint as a tool for travel arrangements. She can transition from business travel to vacation travel with ease. Researching a vacation is one of her favorite parts, whether it’s hunting down historical landmark hotels or finding fun-filled adventures. Some of her favorite activities include biking along European rivers, hiking national forests, horseback riding through the hills of Costa Rica or dining in an Italian villa. Jennifer has travelled numerous times to Mexico to visit the Mayan ruins, snorkel in caves and hike the hills of Puerto Vallarta. She has also cruised the Caribbean Islands, and the Panama Canal on Crystal’s Harmony.

Jennifer has completed certifications for Viking River Cruises, Holland America’s Alaska and destinations, including Bahamas, Dominican Republic, and Jamaica.

The first time Jennifer visited Costa Rica she liked it, but it was not until the second visit that she fell in love. The beauty and people of Costa Rica impressed her the most. Hiking in lush greenery of Arenal, zip lining, horseback riding in the fills and even the mud baths are just a few things Costa Rica offers as a vacation destination. Costa Ricans are extremely proud of their country and even more happy to show it off. When hiking, Jennifer recommends bringing your ugliest shoes as it can be quite muddy. You may end up just throwing them out. It is tough for her to choose just one favorite destination. Jennifer is an outdoors person and loved all that Ireland had to offer. She was very impressed with Belfast and the Titanic museum which she considers a must-see. A special note from Jennifer: Do not use an umbrella when walking around the hills of Ireland. It is quite windy and Mary Poppins, we are not.

Jennifer loves to work with clients at all stages of their travel discovery experience. But research travel is her favorite aspect of her career, whether it is finding the best air schedule or the most fun-filled adventure.
