Embracing Growth and the Power of Continuous Learning

Fox World Travel’s 3i Academy™ has been instrumental in my professional growth through industry training and continuous learning opportunities. 

How It All Began 

Hi, I’m Jason Childers! Before joining Fox World Travel, I worked in the food production industry for several years. My career path took an unexpected turn thanks to a conversation with a Fox associate. She mentioned that Fox was launching a new initiative to bring in individuals without prior travel experience. Intrigued, I applied and began my journey with seven fellow learners in the first Fox World Travel’s 3i Academy™ class on October 12th, 2015. 

My Career Journey  

After graduation, I started as a Group Air Agent, gaining invaluable experience in managing group travel logistics. In 2018, I transitioned to the Domestic Business team, where I honed my skills in handling business travel needs. By August 2019, I embraced a new challenge and accepted a Learning and Development Specialist position with the newly formed Learning and Development Team. 

In 2021, I joined the newly formed Vacation Support Team, which was a unique experience that further broadened my understanding of the travel industry from the perspective of vacation travel support services. 

In 2022, I returned to my passion for learning and development, rejoining the L&D Team as a Specialist. And here I am today, committed to fostering growth and development among our team members. 

The Role of 3i Academy™  

The pivotal moment in my journey was being introduced to Fox World Travel’s 3i Academy™. The 3i Academy™ is an innovative training program designed to foster continuous learning and professional development among associates. The academy’s focus on industry training, innovation, and individual growth resonated with me and sparked my interest in furthering my education within the travel industry. 

Comprehensive Training Programs 

The 3i Academy™ business travel training program equipped me and my fellow classmates with the essential knowledge to contribute effectively to the organization. Beyond understanding the ins and outs of the travel industry, we were also the first to use Smartpoint, a new technology at the time. This unique position allowed us to learn and help introduce Smartpoint to more experienced agents, enhancing our understanding of the industry’s workings. 

Through the 3i Academy™, I had access to various training programs that covered various aspects of the travel industry. From customer service excellence to the latest technology in travel management, these programs equipped me with the knowledge and skills needed to excel in my role. The hands-on training sessions and real-world applications helped me gain confidence and competence in my day-to-day tasks. 

Continuous Learning and Development 

One of the key benefits of the 3i Academy™ is its emphasis on continuous learning. In an industry as dynamic as travel, staying updated with the latest trends and developments is crucial. The academy’s continuous learning initiatives, such as webinars, workshops, and e-learning modules, enabled me to stay ahead of the curve. I could apply new strategies and insights directly to my work, enhancing my performance and the overall customer experience. 

Full Circle: From Learner to Trainer 

My journey has truly come full circle. The skills and knowledge along with the subsequent training programs have not only contributed to my career growth but have also positioned me to give back to the organization. As a Business Travel and Smartpoint educator for Fox, I draw on my experiences to help new employees navigate their paths within the travel industry. All those early learning experiences set me up for success in my current role.
