Delta Air Lines Named Top Airline in 2023 by Wall Street Journal

Delta Air Lines was named the Top U.S. airline of 2023 by the Wall Street Journal. The WSJ tracks seven metrics for nine U.S. airlines to rank them according to their track record of providing reliable service. Delta’s network took first place for the third year in a row and has captured the top spot six out of the last seven years. Delta took the top spot in 2023 in three of seven categories, including on-time arrivals, low U.S. DOT complaints and involuntary denied boarding.

United Airlines Unveils New Summer Flights to Top Outdoor North American Destinations

United Airlines will be offering more than 100 new flights to cities in the U.S. and Canada this summer, focusing on some of the more picturesque destinations like Anchorage and Fairbanks in Alaska, and Canadian cities like Calgary, Vancouver, and Halifax.

The pandemic brought an increased demand from passengers wanting to get outdoors and explore scenic destinations including national parks and mountain towns. UA will be flying their largest schedule in the last decade to Alaska and will have 70 daily flights to national park destinations.

Southwest Airlines Plans Customer Experience Enhancements with Redesigned Cabin, and New Seats

Southwest’s redesigned aircraft cabin interior with feature RECARO aircraft seats and will debut in 2025. Existing Boeing 737 Max 8 and -800s will include onboard power ports and larger overhead bins. In partnership with Tangerine, a leading design company, the design will be based on extensive research covering Customer and Employee perceptions of color, comfort, and aspirations for the overall onboard experience.

United Kicks Off “No Fees to Change a Flight” Ad Campaign as NFL Football Season Comes to a Close

United has saved customers more than $2 billion since becoming the first legacy airline to permanently eliminate change fees more than three years ago. UA’s new commercials will feature Emmy-award winner Kyle Chandler. The campaign will focus on local NFL markets but customers all over the U.S. will continue to realize savings by not paying change fees. More than 10 million UA customers have changed their flight without paying change fees since 2020.

Hotel Groups Focus on Boosting Their Long-Term Share of Guests as EV Adoption Is Poised to Take Off

As the focus on electric vehicles grows, many hotels are helping add to the infrastructure of EV charging stations at their locations. Choice Hotels just announced a deal with Tesla to make chargers available at many of its brands. Last year, Hilton announced they would install at least six Tesla EV charges at each of its 2000 hotels in North America. The goal is to relieve so-called “range anxiety.” This is the worry of EV owners planning long trips or business travelers renting EVs having access to enough charging stations.
