Why Grenada Should Be on Your Incentive Travel Radar

I recently had the opportunity to visit Grenada, and I came away convinced that this Caribbean island deserves a spot on the incentive travel radar.

First, let’s clear up a common misconception: Grenada is not Granada, Spain. Grenada is a beautiful Caribbean island that many travelers may not immediately think of when planning their next vacation. And that’s exactly what can make it such an exciting destination for an incentive travel program.

When planning incentive travel, I love destinations that feel like a true reward. The best incentive destinations give attendees the opportunity to experience somewhere they may not have chosen to visit on their own, while still delivering the experiences and amenities that make the trip feel special.

Grenada checks those boxes. It offers an incredible mix of adventure, culture, history, natural beauty and relaxation, giving groups plenty of opportunities to experience the island beyond the beach.

What Makes Grenada a Unique Incentive Travel Destination?

Here are a few of the experiences that stood out during my time in Grenada:

Discover the “Isle of Spice”
Grenada is known as the “Isle of Spice,” and its connection to nutmeg and other spices is woven throughout the destination. Visiting local spice markets and learning about the island’s spice heritage gives attendees an authentic way to experience Grenada’s culture, flavors and history.

Visit Annandale Waterfall
Tucked into lush tropical surroundings, Annandale Waterfall offers a beautiful change of scenery from Grenada’s coastline. It’s the kind of memorable excursion that allows incentive travelers to experience another side of the island.

Explore Grand Etang Lake and the Rainforest
Grenada’s volcanic landscape creates opportunities for adventure beyond the beach. Grand Etang Lake and the surrounding rainforest showcase the island’s lush interior, with the chance to spot the Mona monkeys that call the area home.

Step Into Grenada’s History
For attendees interested in history and culture, Grenada is home to historic sites including Fort George, Fort Matthew and Fort Frederick. These landmarks offer another way to discover the story of the island while taking in incredible surroundings.

Make Time for the Caribbean
Of course, an incentive trip to Grenada wouldn’t be complete without time to enjoy its beautiful beaches and turquoise Caribbean waters. Whether your attendees are looking for adventure or simply want time to unwind, the island offers opportunities for both.

An Incentive Destination That Feels Different

What I particularly loved about Grenada is that it doesn’t feel like the typical Caribbean destination. There’s plenty of sun and beautiful water, but the experience goes well beyond the usual sand-and-snorkel getaway.

For incentive travel, that distinction matters.

Grenada gives attendees the opportunity to say, “I’ve never been there before!” Then, it gives them experiences they’ll be talking about long after they return home.

If you’re looking for a Caribbean incentive travel destination that feels fresh, authentic, experiential and a little unexpected, Grenada deserves a spot on the short list.
