United Airlines Expects Summer Travel Season to be Strong and Impacted by Unique Cultural Events
United Airlines is expecting more than 53M travelers this summer, with double-digit demand growth tied to once-in-a-lifetime moments.
- Total Solar Eclipse – 50% increase in demand to Santiago de Compostela, Bilbao, Palma de Mallorca, Madrid, and Barcelona, Spain, as well as Iceland and Greenland, ahead of the August 12th total solar eclipse. United flies to 35 destinations within the eclipse’s path.
- International Soccer – United is seeing a 20% increase in bookings aggregate to the North American cities hosting games. These include Mexico City, Toronto, and Los Angeles.
American Airlines to Install Starlink, the Fastest Wi-Fi in the Sky
American Airlines has announced plans to start installing Starlink on more than 500 narrowbody aircraft beginning in Q1, 2027. Starlink is regarded as the world’s most advanced satellite constellation, operating in low Earth orbit to deliver broadband internet capable of supporting in-flight streaming, online gaming, and the use of business tools. With thousands of satellites in low Earth orbit, Starlink can easily deliver multigigabit connectivity to aircraft.

Delta Air Lines Provides Travelers Tips for Summer Travel
It starts with their app, which streamlines the day of travel from check-in to real-time flight status updates. 97% of Delta Air Line’s most frequent travelers report higher satisfaction when using the app to manage their trip. Customers can also complete international travel requirements in advance and opt in to TSA PreCheck Touchless ID. And when flight disruptions do occur, the app is the best place to manage the rebooking process. Finally, when in-flight, the app can assist with your personalized entertainment options and pre-ordering snack service.
Southwest Airlines Bringing “Independence One” to EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2026
EAA AirVenture Oshkosh, the 73rd Experimental Aircraft Association fly-in convention, is July 20-26 at Wittman Regional Airport in Oshkosh, WI. Southwest will bring its Freedom Flying B737 Max 8 to Oshkosh on July 22nd, showcasing Southwest’s support of America’s 250th birthday. In addition, Southwest will also return as a sponsor of WomenVenture, a conference at EAA that aims to inspire and empower women in aviation.

Cvent Ranks 2026 Top Meetings Destinations
Cvent, a meetings management platform, has announced the top meetings destinations globally, based on sourcing activity tied to a record $20B in event volume placed through their platform last year. Singapore, Bangkok, and Sydney are at the top of the Asia-Pacific rankings. Dubai and Istanbul earned top rankings in the Middle East, while Cancun and San Juan, Puerto Rico, lead in Latin America.
United Airlines Adds Nonstop Service to Sapporo, and New Flight Between Chicago and Tokyo-Narita
Daily year-round service between Chicago and Tokyo-Narita will start in October, and seasonal service from San Francisco to Sapporo is three times a week from December through March. United Airlines now serves Tokyo-Narita from six of its seven continental U.S. hubs. This winter, United will operate up to 13 flights per day from the U.S. to four airports in Japan, including Sapporo (CTS), Tokyo-Narita (NRT), Tokyo-Haneda (HDN), and Osaka (KIX).
American Airlines Gives Football Fans Something to Look Forward To
College and NFL football fans can get a head start on their game planning this season with expanded flight options on over 80 routes. Here are some key highlights:

- American will provide fan flights covering more than 293 million yards, which is equivalent to over 3 million football fields.
- American’s fall schedule features more than 4,500 peak daily flights from the hometown airports of professional football teams.
- Additionally, American and its partners are covering international NFL games in more than 7 international destinations.
