Daily Itinerary

A wonderful adventure is ahead starting with an overnight flight from Chicago O’Hare to Munich, Germany.

Your journey begins in Munich, a city celebrated for its rich heritage and lively atmosphere. Upon arrival, there is one group transfer to take you to your hotel. Get acquainted with Bavaria’s capital on a relaxed orientation tour showcasing highlights such as the Feldherrnhalle on the Odeonsplatz, the Palace of the Dukes of Wittelsbach, the English Garden, the Hofbräuhaus, St. Peter’s Church and the vibrant Marienplatz. This evening, join your Travel Director and fellow travelers for a delicious Welcome Dinner at a local restaurant.

Begin the day with a visit to the Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial Site for a moment of remembrance and reflection on its profound historical significance. Later, experience the excitement of Munich’s world-famous Oktoberfest. Running since 1810 and attracting over six million visitors each year, the festival is a lively celebration of Bavarian culture. Enjoy the festive atmosphere, amusement rides, and entertainment before settling into your reserved tables to savor classic Bavarian specialties for dinner. Your dedicated host will ensure a memorable experience.

Journey to majestic Neuschwanstein Castle (subject to availability), the fairy-tale creation of King Ludwig II. Step inside its richly decorated apartments, including the ornate Throne Room and the Lohengrin-inspired courtyard. Later, travel to the charming village of Oberammergau, famed for its Passion Play tradition dating back to 1634. Admire the immense theater and stroll among chalets adorned with colorful frescoes.

Travel through picture-perfect Bavarian countryside to Obersalzberg, once the mountain retreat of high-ranking Nazi officials. Board special mountain coaches for the scenic ascent to the Eagle’s Nest, where sweeping views stretch across the Hohen Göll and surrounding snow-capped peaks. Cross the Austrian border and onto Salzburg, the city of Mozart and the ‘Sound of Music. A Local Specialist will show you the formal gardens of Mirabell Palace, including the fountains and statues where the ‘Do, Re, Mi’ scene was filmed. Cross Residence Square with its fountain, where Maria sings ‘I Have Confidence’ and see the imposing fortress, the immense cathedral and Mozart’s birthplace on the lively Getreidegasse. This evening, gather for dinner at a local restaurant, reflecting on the experiences shared before continuing on to the next chapter of your travels.

This morning, pause in the picturesque town of Burghausen, taking in panoramic views of its striking hilltop fortress, the longest castle complex in the world and enjoying a gentle stroll through the colorful Old Town. Afterwards, continue to Passau, where you are dropped off at the port to embark on your onward cruise.

In Passau, the ‘City of Three Rivers’, where the Inn, Danube and Ilz meet, you can choose to explore with a walking tour or on a hike. Stroll through the old town’s cobbled streets with a Local Specialist or choose a guided hike along the scenic Ilz River. In the afternoon, why not join an optional Bavarian beer, pretzel and music experience? Enjoying local brews, freshly baked pretzels and traditional folk music. Cross into Austria as you begin your Danube River Cruise.

Explore Linz with your Local Specialist, strolling through its historic center and discovering the city’s rich past. Alternatively, join an optional tour to Salzburg, Mozart’s birthplace and the setting for The Sound of Music. Or, if you love medieval charm, choose an optional visit to Český Krumlov, a fairytale town with winding streets and a stunning castle.

Cruise through the Wachau Valley, a UNESCO-listed gem known for its vineyards and medieval castles, passing the historic Melk Abbey. Ashore in Spitz, you’ll join your Local Specialist for a walking tour, exploring the charm of this historic riverside town famous for their apricots. For lunch, you’ll meet the Saahs family for a Be My Guest experience at Weingut Nikolaihof, Austria’s oldest winery, where you’ll enjoy homemade specialties made with organic produce straight from their gardens.

Welcome to Vienna, the former capital of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Get to know this buzzing city with a drive along the Ringstraße and a guided walk through the old town, where Vienna’s grand architecture and imperial history come to life. Then, explore further with a choice between two experiences, enjoying sweet delights or diving into the life of Mozart. Settle into a traditional coffee house and indulge in a slice of Sachertorte, experiencing Vienna’s famous cafe culture. Or step into the world of Mozart with an immersive journey back to the 18th century, discovering the places that shaped his life and music. This afternoon, choose between two Optional Experiences. Visit Schönbrunn Palace, the opulent summer home of the Habsburgs, or take a foodie walking tour, tasting strudels, schnitzels and other Viennese favorites. After a day of discovery, why not end the evening with an optional classical concert featuring the music of Strauss and Mozart?

Arrive in Bratislava and explore its old town on a walking tour with your Local Specialist. See the historic town hall, pass through Michael’s Gate and admire St. Martin’s Cathedral. Alternatively, step back in time on a MAKE TRAVEL MATTER. Experience, uncovering life under Communism with stories of escapes, Soviet rule and the Velvet Revolution. Looking to stretch your legs? Join an Optional Experience hike up to Bratislava Castle for sweeping Danube views. Or join an optional guided drive with views from the castle and a tasting of local craft beers at a Bratislava brewery. Cruise along the Hungarian Slovakian border towards Budapest.

In the early morning hours, your ship will pass through the famous Danube Bend. After docking in Budapest, explore both sides of the city—historic Buda and lively Pest—with your Local Specialist. Visit Heroes’ Square before heading up Castle Hill past Matthias Church to step inside Fisherman’s Bastion for views over the Danube and Parliament. Or, take a foodie tour, diving into Budapest’s vibrant culinary scene and tasting local favorites. This afternoon, choose an Optional Experience to explore the Jewish district, including a visit to the Dohány Street Synagogue.

This morning, disembark Trafalgar Reverie as your scenic river cruise comes to an end. Bid farewell to your captain, Experience Director and Manager, crew and fellow cruise companions, taking with you unforgettable memories of your voyage along the Danube.

Initial Deposit: $1,200 per person

Fox Professional Fee: $50.00 per reservation will be charged at time of deposit, non-refundable

Final Payment: No later than May 10, 2027

Requirements: A valid US passport with a minimum validity of 6 months from date of return

Not Included: Airline flights on land-only packages, air-imposed baggage fees, gratuities for airport porters, tour guides, motorcoach drivers, meals (other than those included in the package), optional excursions, travel insurance and any items of a personal nature.

Terms: Minimum of number of travelers is required for the tour to operate and send a Fox World Travel tour manager to accompany the group. In the event the minimum number is not reached, the tour will operate with a professional, local guide in the destination. Hotels and daily itinerary are subject to change. In the event of water level problems or any problems of a technical nature, it may be necessary to operate the itinerary by motorcoach or to alter the program. Included visits and specific features are subject to change. If a change is necessary, a substitute will be offered.

Group Air: A minimum of 10 passengers is needed for the group air. Air is non-refundable after ticketing. Flights are currently pending. The air-inclusive package includes air that has not yet been assigned, the identity of the carrier, which may include the carrier`s code-share partner, will be assigned and disclosed at a later date. Air package pricing is subject to change until contracted due to the volatility of airfare costs. Checked baggage fees may apply. Pricing and flight options from other cities available upon request.

Cancellation Penalties:

May 11 – June 12, 2027: 50% package price, Fox Fee, Applicable Airline fees

June 13 – July 14, 2027: 75% package price, Fox Fee, Applicable airline fees

Fox World Cancellation Fee of $100.00 per reservation will apply in addition to any Fox Group Vacation or vendor cancellation penalties. Air tickets are non-refundable once ticketed.

Insurance: For peace of mind, we recommend purchasing travel protection insurance. Your travel advisor can discuss options with you, including medical expense coverage, pre-existing medical condition exclusion waivers, trip cancellation, trip delay, lost, delayed, or damaged baggage and more. To cover pre-existing conditions, most policies must be purchased within 14 days of making your initial deposit. Travel protection insurance prices are based on your age and the trip cost.

Activity Level 2 – Moderate
Designed for travelers who prefer a balanced blend of sightseeing and downtime. Expect days that include up to two–three miles of walking on a mix of paved paths, small hills, cobblestone streets, and occasional uneven ground. There may be one to two days on this tour when walking tours can cover three to four miles over uneven terrain. Travelers should be comfortable standing for up to two hours during guided activities and climbing two flights of stairs, sometimes without handrails. Daily touring may include early departures or longer coach rides.
Mobility Guidance: You are welcome to travel with mobility aids; however, there will be portions of touring that may be more difficult to accommodate, and you may need to navigate short stretches without assistance. Please share your needs with us in advance so we can plan appropriately.

RESPONSIBILITY: We and any sponsoring organizations act only as agent for the suppliers of travel services such as airlines, hotels, car rental companies, tour operators, restaurants, sightseeing companies, entertainment providers, and cruise lines (the “Suppliers”). We are not responsible for the acts or omissions of the Suppliers that cause losses or damages arising from physical or emotional injury, property or other economic damage, consequential damages, or monetary losses, or arising from any other causes beyond our control. We reserve the right to make any changes in the itinerary deemed necessary, and also the right to decline or retain any person as a member of the Trip. If you choose to arrange your own transportation for any portion of the Trip, we are not responsible for any arrangements or associated costs should there be a change in date that requires changes or cancellation to transportation arranged by you. We are not responsible should there be any changes with vacation hosts, tour managers, or entertainment. You grant to FWT and its designated agents the right to acquire and use the audio, photographic, video and other portrayals of your image, likeness, and voice in any medium of any nature whatsoever, including the Internet, for the purpose of trade, advertising, sales, publicity or otherwise, without compensation.

We will make reasonable attempts to accommodate the special needs of disabled travelers, but we are not responsible in the event we are unable to do so nor are we responsible for any denial of services by Suppliers. The American with Disabilities Act is only applicable within the United States and facilities for disabled individuals are limited outside its borders. Most transportation services, including a touring motor coach, are not equipped with wheelchair ramps. We regret we cannot provide individual assistance to a vacation participant for walking, dining, getting on and off motor coaches and other vehicles, or other personal needs. A qualified and physically able companion must accompany travelers who need such assistance and must assume full responsibility for their well-being. Motorized scooters are unsuitable for most vacations.

We have no special knowledge regarding the financial condition of the Suppliers, unsafe conditions, health hazards, weather hazards, or climate extremes at locations to which you may travel. For medical information, we recommend contacting the Centers for Disease Control at (877) FYI-TRIP or www.cdc.gov/travel. You assume full and complete responsibility for checking and verifying any and all passport, visa, vaccination, or other entry requirements of your destination(s), and all conditions regarding health, safety, security, political stability, and labor or civil unrest at such destination(s). You hereby release us from all claims arising out of any problem covered in this paragraph. You agree that the courts in Winnebago County, Wisconsin will be the exclusive jurisdiction for all claims brought by you or us, and you hereby submit to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.

We work vigilantly with the Suppliers to maintain integrity of the price you were originally quoted and placed on deposit. There may be certain circumstances where your vacation may be subject to a price increase prior to full payment due to a supplier or government issued surcharge. Prices will not increase after you make full payment, except for charges resulting from increases in government-imposed taxes or fees, fuel surcharges, exchange fluctuations or any combinations of these. Fox World Travel will make a reasonable attempt to contact you prior to issuing charges.
